Meet Charli Renee

Welcome. This little corner is where my thoughts from the attic tumble out to play, sometimes gracefully, sometimes like they’ve tripped on a loose floorboard. It’s my open notebook, my soft place to land, and sometimes the gentle shove I need to keep trying.

Just recently, about a year ago, I decided to try my hand at a mystery novel. I’m now up to Chapter Eight, and how exciting that feels. However, what I am learning is that I don’t really know what I am doing, but I am having fun figuring it out. Writing always inspires more of the same. I like that, and I like the writer in me.

I’m a mother to my two amazing, beautiful daughters, and a Mimi to four grandkids that I adore more and more each day. I love nature, and I love exploring with my mind and my heart. Laughter is always rewarding, but even more so when it’s shared with my loves. An interesting, fun fact about me? Many years ago, in college, I studied walking sticks in the desert, proof that I appreciate all critters and creatures.

When I was in third grade, I wrote my first story. It was about a weed who thought himself less than, but ended up turning into a tree. It may have been an average little story, but my Mama told me, “Baby girl, you are a writer.” I’ve loved writing ever since and spent much of my life using its quiet magic to help me understand others and myself. It’s fun to ponder a thing and just start typing, and before I know it, a cathartic recipe has been concocted.

It brings me joy to know you’re curious enough to rummage around in my inner world, these scraps, stories, and stubborn rejections that prove I’m still here, still writing. Linger if you’d like. I hope you find something here that feels honest, a bit brave, a little unexpected, maybe even like home. And if you laugh, even better. That’s my favorite part.

So, pull up a chair. Don’t mind the dust bunnies. They’ve been loitering here longer than I have.
